This MSc/ PGDip Medical Laboratory Science prepares you to work in the exciting field of clinical laboratories. These laboratories are increasingly important in the research, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. Our online MSc / PGDip will delve into the techniques used by companies working in clinical analysis, collection of biological samples, biochemical tests, and specific analyses in haematology, immunology, parasitology, biochemistry and molecular biology. With this course, you will train in one of the fields with the highest demand for qualified professionals and excellent career prospects.
You will have access to many hours of audio visual materials, which are essential teaching materials. Thus, you can study wherever and whenever you want.
Approximately twice a week you will carry out practical activities that will be reviewed and evaluated by your specialized teachers.

PHD IN BIOTECHNOLOGY AND CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY
A passionate bioscientist, Carlos holds a PhD in Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering, an MSc in Healthcare Biotechnology and a BSc in Biotechnology. Over 12 years' experience as a genomics and molecular biology researcher applied to human healthcare. He tutored several Master's and Bachelor's students.
PHD IN MICROBIOLOGY
Susana holds a BSc in Biology and a PhD in Microbiology. She has led research projects at various prestigious international institutions such as the Central University of Venezuela, University College London and the National Institute for Medical Research.
PHD IN BIOCHEMISTRY
Beatriz holds a BSc in Biology and a PhD in Biochemistry. She has extensive experience as a researcher and project manager at the University of Navarra, the University of A Coruña and the University of Santiago de Compostela. Beatriz has published a wide range of articles and has presented papers at national and international conferences. In 2017, she received the jury award for Best Master's Professor from the Spanish Association of Business Schools.
PHD IN BIOLOGY
Cristina has a PhD and a BSc in Biology. In addition, she holds a Master of Science in Environmental Management and Quality Management. She has experience in teaching and as a microbiological analyst in the laboratory. She has also done research at Santiago de Compostela University.
PHD IN GENETICS
Luis has a PhD in Genetics, a BSc in Biology and an MSc in Business, Management and Organisational Studies. He is currently Chief Science Officer (CSO) at Centauri Biotech. Centauri is a biotechnology company focused on animal health. He is the author of some twenty articles in scientific journals. He has presented more than 40 papers at national and international conferences. Currently, he is a professor at the University of A Coruña.

Our MSc Medical Laboratory Science has a total duration of 2250 hours. This is equivalent to 180 UK credits, the workload typically associated with an academic year. You can also choose our PGDip, which has no Major Project included and has a duration of 1500 hours (120 UK CAT).
In our MSc Medical Laboratory Science syllabus, you will find a specific section dedicated to the diverse equipment and materials of a clinical laboratory. In the introductory module, you will also learn the basics of cleaning, disinfecting and sterilising laboratory equipment and materials.
To further develop your knowledge, you will also have the opportunity to carry out professional internships in a range of companies.
